Holy Day of Obligation
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Holy Day of Obligation for all Catholics.
Our Mass Schedule is:
Aug. 14 Vigil of the Assumption 6 p.m. at St. Joseph
Aug. 15 The Assumption 8:30 a.m. at St. Mary and 6 p.m. at St. Ann.
The dogma of the Assumption of Mary was announced in 1950 by Pope Pius XII.
“We pronounce, declare, and define to be divinely revealed the dogma that the Immaculate Mother of God, the Ever-virgin Mary, was on the completion of her earthly life, assumed body and soul into the glory of heaven.”
Parish Festival Volunteers Needed
