Gabriel Project of Jennings County
(An Archdiocese of Indianapolis Sponsored Ministry)
What We Do
We build relationships with moms to give them hope for a better future. We pray with each mom, encourage them with words of hope, and always leave them knowing they can reach out if they need help in any way.
Here’s How We Have Helped:
- Paid a mother's rent
- Made gift baskets
- Provided transportation and gas cards
- Helped a mom get her car towed to a mechanic so she could use it to drive to work and care for her 7-week-old baby
- Helped a family with budgeting plans and showed them how to save money
- Met families in the parking lot of Walmart to pick up items such as diapers, wipes, and formula
- We have even provided everything a new mom would need before she was out of the hospital with her newborn-- because she had absolutely nothing but the clothes on her back
- Most importantly, we provide prayer and hope for these moms and families

Gabriel Project Angels
Maureen O’Donnell and Kelly Elkins pose at St. Ann Catholic Church in Jennings County where the Gabriel Project stores the very generous donations given to women in need. Both women are on the leadership team and are Angels – the term the Gabriel Project gives to those who help mothers and children in need.

Being an Angel might seem like a lot. However, it doesn't have to take a lot of time. It is a blessing to meet these moms and to let them know that they are seen and loved by God. This has been a humbling experience for all of us and even though we are all taking care of our families, those of us who have volunteered get so much more out of it. We get to talk about God's mercy and love to others who need to hear it and don't otherwise get told of His goodness. In other words: It Is Worth Your Time to be an Angel, a messenger of God!
If you are not able to help at this time, please forward this to anyone you know who may be a good candidate for this position. Please pray for us and the families we serve.

“The Gabriel Project offers more than diapers, wipes, and baby clothes. We meet the moms where they are in life. We offer help in providing for their immediate needs and connect them with needed resources. We keep in contact with them for TWO YEARS to make sure they know they are not alone in this world of unknowns.”
