Please Read This Note from Fr. Byrd today!
Today, I had the privilege to offer Holy Mass at the Church of San Girolamo (St. Jerome) near the Campo de Fiori in Rome. This is the church that St. Philip Neri came to after his priestly ordination and where the Oratory of St. Philip began. He lived here for 33 years before moving to Chiesa Nuova (The New Church) where he died.
I offered Holy Mass, along with my friend, Fr. Chris Mileski from the diocese of Toledo, Ohio, at the Altar of the Crucifix. St. Philip Neri offered Holy Mass on this altar. After Mass, Fr. Mileski and I were give a great gift! Sr. Daniela of the Sisters of St. Philip Neri gave us a tour of the apartments of St. Philip where he lived with the congregation of the Oratory.
What a grace to be able to visit and pray in the very rooms that St. Philip lived, prayed and began the Oratory in!
